This Privacy Policy describes how the PhoSplit iOS application (the "App"), operated by BoardTack ("we", "us", or "our"), handles your information. PhoSplit is a photo tool that splits a photo into a grid for Instagram and similar feeds, applies filters, and adds text or image watermarks. It is designed to work entirely on your device.
PhoSplit asks for permission to access your photo library so you can pick photos to split, filter, or watermark, and so it can save the results to your Camera Roll. It asks for camera permission only when you choose to take a new photo from inside the App. All image processing, including splitting, filtering, and watermarking, is performed on your device. The App does not send your photos, watermark images, or watermark text to BoardTack or to any third party.
The projects you create (the photos you selected, the grid layout, applied filters, watermarks, and any tags you type) are stored in a local database inside the App's sandbox on your device. Deleting a project in the App removes it from that database, and deleting the App removes all of its data.
PhoSplit includes a share extension so you can send photos from the Photos app or other apps directly into PhoSplit. Photos shared this way are handled the same as photos you pick inside the App: they are processed locally and are not transmitted anywhere.
We do not collect, store, or use any personal information such as your name, email address, or contact details while you use the App. If you contact us by email, we use the information you provide only to respond to your message and to improve the App. We may disclose information in the following circumstances only:
To understand how the App is used, find problems, and improve it, the App uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, services provided by Google. These services may collect non-personal, aggregated information such as the App version, device model and operating system version, language and country, which screens and features are used, how often the App is opened, and, when a crash occurs, a technical crash report. This information is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy: Google Privacy Policy and Firebase Privacy and Security.
The App may ask for permission to send notifications, which we use only for occasional notices about the App itself, such as major updates. You can turn notifications off at any time in the iOS Settings app. Notification delivery is handled by Apple and Firebase Cloud Messaging; we do not use notifications to collect data about you.
PhoSplit offers an optional Premium upgrade as an auto-renewing subscription, purchased through Apple's App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple. The App only verifies with Apple's StoreKit whether Premium is active so it can unlock Premium features. BoardTack does not receive your name, card number, or billing address.
Because your projects and photos are stored only on your device, you control them completely. Deleting a project removes it from the App, and deleting the App removes everything it stored. Anonymous analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase according to Google's retention settings and are automatically deleted after the retention period.
PhoSplit is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We will occasionally update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the revised policy.
